Faith begins in everyday moments

Faith at Home

Bringing God’s Word into the everyday moments families already share.

Faith takes root in the small, repeated moments of family life. A Scripture at breakfast, a prayer before bed, or a conversation in the car can help children know God’s Word, understand what it means, and begin to live it.

Faith grows in moments you already have.

Reflect. Connect. Remember.

12 Scriptures for Little Disciples hardcover book

You do not need a perfect routine or a long lesson. Use this simple rhythm to help your child connect God’s Word to experiences they already understand.

Read it. Talk about it. Return to it.

1

Reflect

What is Theo experiencing? Ask your child if they have ever felt that way too. Let their answer lead the conversation.

2

Connect

Read “God’s Word Says” together. Repeat it, explain it simply, and connect the message to what your child is experiencing.

3

Remember

When a similar moment happens later, return to the Scripture and ask, “Remember what God’s Word says?”

From my home to yours

The best faith conversations are often unplanned.

As a mom of little ones, I’ve learned that teaching my children about God rarely happens in perfectly planned moments. Some of our best conversations about Scripture happen in the car, at bedtime, after someone gets upset, or right in the middle of an ordinary day.

One thing I’ve started doing is bringing Scripture back up when the moment actually happens. If we have talked about a verse before, I’ll ask, “Remember what God’s Word says?” Repetition matters. They may not understand everything the first time, but little by little, God’s Word becomes familiar to them.

That is part of why I created Faith by Fire Kids. I want our children to know that Scripture is not only something we hear at church. God’s Word belongs in their everyday lives.

However faith looks in your home today, I’m grateful you’re here. We’re raising these little hearts together.

Faith in the everyday

Practicing Faith

These are a few simple practices I return to with my own boys. They are not a formula, just gentle ways to make room for God’s Word in the moments we already share.

KEEP IT SHORT

Sometimes two minutes and one clear truth are enough. A brief conversation can become something they carry with them.

RETURN TO IT

When an everyday moment connects to a Scripture you have shared, bring it back into the conversation.

MAKE ROOM TO LISTEN

Ask one simple question, then give your child space to share what they noticed, felt, or remembered.

TRUST THE SEEDS

Children may understand and carry more of God’s Word than we realize. Give it time to take root.

Free resources are growing

More help for the everyday moments.
